I'm very close to the courthouse. I believe he said Ann Stringfellow was his great grandmother on his mother's side. She was an Indian - he believes Cherokee. She entered 300 acres on Swan/Indian Creek. She later married Mr. Smith. The name he said sounds like "Bunk Smith". He bought 20 acres in the area behind her land and was a hunter/trapper. He has found no other written record of Mr. Smith after they married or shortly after. There was a Smith family who sold thousands of acres to the early Swiss Colony here but this is a different family. It is my understanding he has written all his family history down for his family so it won't be lost. Notify Administrator about this message?
