Gail, I'm afraid William R. Baugus won't be on any census from Lewis County. Lewis County wasn't formed until 1843 and he died in 1847 so a census wasn't taken during this time. I found him listed as living in Maury County in the 1830 census. The book in our library just gave the head of the household and a reference number. It stated: Wm. Boggus - Maury County - 121001 - 0122001 Lewis County was partly formed from a section of Maury County and you will probably find him in both the 1830 and 1840 census in Maury County. Here are the Boggus families in the early Lewis County census: 1850 Tennessee Census Vol 1 - Mary A. Boggus 55 - Wm. R. 24, Calvin 21, Caroline 16, Canada T. (I failed to record Canada's age). This census was in Lewis Co. - 505 - 851 Tennessee Census Vol. 1 1860 - Aligal Boggus - 69 - Lewis County - 18 - 510 1860 - Richard Boggus - 39 - Eliza 32, Eleanor J. 14, James 12 - Wm. 10 - Samuel 9, Martha 7, Nancy 6, John 3, Leander 8/12 - Lewis Co. - 18 - 510 Notify Administrator about this message?
