CHARLES ALEXANDER on SWAN CREEK, Sep 1834-1840

Seeking Charles Alexander who moved from Four Corners, TN, to SWAN CREEK, Maury or LEWIS County, TN. Rev. Leonidas
Polk, cousin of Charles Alexander, visited with him on Sept
8, 1834, in Maury Co. (do not know where visit took place).
Leonidas said that Charles had lived in Mecklenburg Co., NC, until about 1814, when he moved to Giles Co., TN (near
Lincoln Co. Line). Then 18 months ago (He spoke on Sep 8, 1834..so move was 18 mo's earlier), Charles moved to Maury Co., TN.

Charles said that if he lived until Jan 4, 1835, he would be 80 years of age.

Leonidas said that Charles lived about 15 miles "from here"
(someplace in Maury Co. where they visited) on SWAN CREEK.

TN Archivist said that a Charles Alexander born Jan 4, 1755, was buried at Reese's Chapel, Ebenezer's Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Maury Co, without a marker
before 1840 (since he was not on the census).

Charles Alexander Pension was applied for in Maury Co, TN,
by his cousin James Knox Polk. Pension #21,599.

I am seeking WIFE and CHILDREN of this, my greatuncle of old. If anyone knows of this man or his family on Swan Creek in Charles' final years, please get in touch.

I was recently told that part of Swan Creek is in LEWIS Co., so, did not want to leave any stone unturned.

Thanks for your help. Mac Alexander
