I am researching Jacob Moyer the immigrant who came to VA from Switzerland on the Jamica Galley in 1739. I have been told by another researcher of the Moyer/Moyers line that he had a son named Peter and a son named Jacob who married Sarah/Soloma Miller in 1781 and had the following children....John; Mathias; Sussana; Peter; Sarah and Doretha (Dolly). Dolly married John Baughman, son of Henry and Mary Bachman Baughman who came over on the Jamica Galley at the same time. Mathias is my line. He married Mary Polly Collins but died early age and she remarried Andrew Gass, a man much younger than her, he along with Mary raised her children by Mathias. Mathias had a son named Wiley, (some records have it spelled Wagley) He along with his wife and 3 brothers came from Dandridge, Tennessee where his mother and father died and by barge made their way to Limestone County, Alabama. I know one was Albion Bruce or A.B. or Bruce, as I have seen his name all three ways, but don't know the other two brothers names. Wiley died enroute and was buried along the river side. My grandfather was Alford Whitten Moyers. Wondering if maybe there might be a connection between the Limestone County, Alabama Moyers line and the Lincoln County, TN Moyers lines?
