Can someone tell me where near Petersburg, Lincoln County, Tennessee, William C. Butler owned a mill in 1864/1865. Butler's will was proven in Lincoln Co. court October 1865. John H. Chapman was named in Butler's will as the caretaker, repairman who ran the mill and resided at the mill rent free in one of the houses on the property that Chapman maintained. At Butler's death the mill was to be turned over to his brother, L. C. Butler. In the 1860 Lincoln Co census , District 1, John H. Chapman is living between James Clark, wife Elizabeth, a saddler, and Samuel Hinkle, wife Esther, a wheel wright. Chapman died July, 1870. Thank you.
