We have been doing extensive research on the Old John Biggs of Lincoln CO., TN and here are some of our ideas. In early deeds of Robertson and Sumner County TN we find mention of Joseph, Elijah, David,John Biggs Sr. and John Biggs Jr. Both mentioned ca 1805 Robertson deeds. In 1820 John, David and Jospeh all appear together in Sumner Co. Adam also appears there a few houses away. On this census we have come to the conclusion that the John Biggs mentioned here would be John Jr. and was over 45 in 1820, b. ca 1770. David here is the younger couple and we think the older couple may be Old John and wife living with David. He would have been age 70-80 then and retired.
Ir is our assumption that John, Joseph, David, Elijah were probably brothers and sons of old John Biggs. By 1830 census John Jr.#2 seems to have dissappeared and we have John Jr. #3 b. 1803. We think the younger set of children living with old John are probably his grandchildren and sons of John Jr. #2. Adam, John #3, Morning Biggs Martin, Mary Biggs Anderson, wife of James Anderson, The one living with Josiah Biggs later in Lincoln Co., TN. and Margaret Biggs, and probably Josiah. Plus more girls I think 7 or 8 in all. We do not have data to proove this yet, but are looking. vDo any of you have a wife for Old John Biggs??
As to the wife of Joseph as Patsy Kelly. Patsy is a nickname for Martha Kelly. Would love to contact those who are working on this line.
