James Maxwell is an ancestor of great interest, and I believe he is the James referred to in these Lincoln County land records.

He was born 26 Feb. 1772 (where?) and married Sarah MOORE, born (where?) 4 Dec. 1768, in Blount Co., Tennessee 19 Aug. 1802. They soon migrated to Lincoln Co., TN and later to MO about 1835. James MAXWELL died 23 March 1842 in Randolph Co. MO. Sarah Moore Maxwell died 25 June 1848.

James Maxwell also was connected with Daniel Harkins of Lincoln Co.

Some of these surnames are familiar in earlier Kentucky records and later ended up in Missouri as well.
How were some of these surnames related, and did
James Maxwell's son, John, marry a daughter of Philip Fox?

Any clues would be truly appreciated! Thanks.
