I am seeking information on James "Jim" Akins and his wife Elizabeth. They are listed in the 1900 Loudon Co.TN census. Living with them is Adaline Bright, b. Oct. 1836 in Tennessee. Her relationship is listed as mother-in-law to James Akins. I would like to know if this is Elizabeth Bright's second marriage. Is it possible that she was married to Joseph Marvin Kennedy before her marriage to James Akins?
On an old note from a great-great-great-aunt, it is mentioned that Elizabeth Bright and Joseph Marin Kennedy divorced on August 29, 1883 in Monroe County, TN. The Family Search website records a marriage between Elizabeth Bright & James Akins on Aug. 20, 1885 in Monroe Co., TN Any help with this puzzle would be appreciated.
