Here is a tentative chronology of the life of Dr. Robert Patterson Eaton (1835-1905), of Roane and Loudon counties, TN. The son of Andrew Chamberlain Eaton and Susanna M. Donaldson, Robert was a practicing physician. He m. Cornelia Boyd (1839-?) in Grainger Co., TN, in 1859; they had 8 children. Like many inhabitants of E. TN, he apparently opposed secession and supported the Union, though documentation seems to be sparse. He was a Republican, a member of both the TN State Senate and House, and a trustee of the U. of TN. The present list was compiled primarily from on-line sources.
