JACKSON -- William Edward Cooney, 75, retired industrial engineer, died Friday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Jackson, where he was a communicant, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home has charge. He was a member of Merry Makers and Friends of St. Francis. Mr. Cooney, the husband of Anna Beth Cooney, also leaves a daughter, Margaret Nevens of Sarasota, Fla.; three sons, Michael Cooney of Chicago, Mark Cooney of Blackhawk, Colo., and Matthew Cooney of Huntsville, Ala.; a sister, William Bernard Cooney of Springfield, Ill.; three brothers, Joseph Cooney and John Cooney, both of Tucson, and Robert Cooney of Las Vegas, and four grandchildren.
