I am very interested in this family. my childrens gggg grandmother was Tennessee Adeline Thompson McCartney she was the daughter of Elsa/Elsick/Ezrick Thompson who married a Sarah and had Tennessee and Charles and a Manerva and had children Agigail, William A., Martha J., Louisa, Anna Amanda, Ada, Thomas, Margaret and Angeline. this family lived in Franklin co. Ark. from 1860 until the 1900's. Before they came to Arkansas they lived in Marion CO. Tn. in 1850. Living next to Elsick Thompson in 1860 in Franklin CO. ARk. is a William Thompson and a Permelia Maxfield Thompson with children Sarah E. , D. Frank, I believe this William is a brother to Elsick they list there birth places as Tennessee on some censuses and Georgia on others. Then in 1880 in Franklin Co. Ark. I find a Isaac Thompson and Nancy ( ? Burns) had children named Lydia, Mary, George, William, Green, Sarah, Martha, Osborn and Dawson. this family has birth places of Tn. Nc, and Ga.
I went to the 1840 Marion Co. Tennesse census I traced all Thompsons the names as heads of household appear to be Ausburn, Moses, Charlotte, Hampton, William, and Ann.
The only two that have a son born in 1826 would be either Moses or Ausbern.
Now looking in the Ancestry and Rootsweb databases I find that Ausbern married a Abigail Wilson and had children Ausburn, William, Alexander, Mire, Nancy, Sarah and tennesse ( tempie).
Three of these sons died in Ark. no further info.
Now since our Elsick had children named Tennessee, Abigail and a son William this appears to be on the right track.
Can anyone help figure this mess out.
