Matthew WALLACE was born c 1762 in PA and died in 1837 in Marshall Co. TN. He lived in Mecklenburg Co. VA where he married Mildred ALLEN. About 1805 they moved with their children to Maury Co. TN, then moved to Bedford Co. TN (that part which became Marshall Co. in 1836). Their children were:

Ezekiel WALLACE b. 1786 m (1) Elizabeth ROBISON? moved to MS, m (2) Mary
Prudence WALLACE b. 1787
Sarah WALLACE b. 1789 m. William COWAN
Margaret WALLACE b. 1791 m. James? SCOTT
William WALLACE b. 1796 m. Sophia GILLESPIE
Matthew Steward WALLACE b. 1799 m. Sarah WILSON moved to AL
Mildren WALLACE b. 1801 m. John RAGSDALE
