Hello Sue:
We are researching the Meeks from Marshall Co. as well. Sorry we do not know anything about your James Meeks and the connection to the Luna family.

We are researching John Wesley Meeks (b. c1810) and his wife Mary Jane Hardin (b. c 1814 - d. c 1840). Our family has told us that the children (at least two of them) from this couple were born in Marshall Co., which they said was in Middle Tennessee.

The children: Cicily Eveline (b. c 1837) and William Wesley (b. c. 1840) Meeks were brought to Arkansas by their father John Wesley Meeks after their mother died and their father could no long look after them. They were left with their maternal grandparents, William and Cicelia Hardin and appear with them on the 1860 census in Mazarne Twp, Montgomery Co., AR along with another Meeks child whom we do not know, by the name of Nancy aged 14 years and also from Tennessee. John Wesley Meeks never returned. The birth dates of the two change with each ensuing census so those given here are to the best of our knowledge.

We are wondering if you have discovered your James Meeks yet or if any of our information sounds familiar.

Look forward to hearing from you and thank you for any information you might be able to send out way.

Regards,
Necia Yehia
