Leslie, you are a wonderful person. 'Randon acts of kindness'. Ebenezer Rice, missionary to the Indians there in 1820-1830 in Maury Co., died about 1830-31. Ruth Henrietta (Eveleth) Rice, wife, know that she was living with her son in 1830 but was dead before 1840 when this son Ebenezer Rice, Jr. moved to White/IL with his 4 siblings. Ebenezer Rice, Sr. was born in MA in 1756 and she was born in MA in 1758. Our oral family history says that she is buried in the Rutland Cemetery and we always thought VT (because that is where they lived after he served there in the Rev. War.) but that didn't make any sense because they had no family in VT at all! So then I looked at the Rutland Cemetery in White/IL but it is now a highway and no one knows of it's existance. But when I discovered today that she probably about 72 and alive in the census, realized that she must have died in the Maury /TN area and that Ruth Henrietta and Ebenezer Rice are porobably together. She is named after an older sister Ruth who died at age 7 so when this 5th daughter was bor, they named her Ruth but always called her Henrietta. so, looking for a Henrietta Rice and her missionary reverend husband Ebenezer Rice. Please let me know if you need any more info...Oh, they had a son Roland Rice who died and is buried there as well...Probably they are all buried together... Many regards, Donna Crosby Notify Administrator about this message?
