Meredith Ambrose Helm and his wife Fanny Gray Helm and her daughter, Bertha, by her first marriage to A.M. Griffin(g), were living in Athens, TN in 1860 where he was occupied in real estate. In 1870, still in Athens, Meredith's occupation was merchant. Bertha reportedly married a Voight/Voigt and was no longer in this household in 1870. Meredith Helm died in Athens in 1879, buried Cedar Grove Cemetery. Fanny died in 1889 and is buried in the Gray family burial ground in Grayville, White County, IL where her father, James Gray, was an early settler. Seeking info on Bertha's father, Alexander Meriwether Griffin(g), born KY c. 1815, and Bertha's marriage.
