Shirley, thanks for your reply...I do have all the Census from Meigs...Also, I cannot find Mary Ann any place on the 1850 Census...maybe they missed her. I would be interested also in what happened to Richard Taylor's oldest brother, James L. Taylor who married Vilety Sliger...They are on the 1860 Meigs Co TN...but cannot find any trace of them afterwards. One story is that Vilety ran off with the hired hand while James was in the War. He was a Confederate...do you know if Meigs Co would have War records on him? Also, I see a McCorkle in your postings...In Pension papers filed by Dr. Stephen Taylor's wife (War of 1812) she refers to a verification of McCorkles wife...Do you know if there is a connection other that friends between the Taylors-McCorkles (think it was Joseph).
