I found this in the Athens Newspaper microfilm:
CHANCERY COURT AT CLEVELAND
Abijah JOhnson, Adm. of William Johnson Dec'd vs. Perry Maples, William Johnson & Robert Johnson defendents and Elijah Johnson, Thomas T. Crossland and wife Malinda Crossland, Rachel Johnson, Harrett Johnson and her husband Wesly Johnson and Calven Johnson.
The Account ordered in this cause at the last term of the Court will be taken at the office of the Clerk and Master of Clevelan, on the 6th day of Aug. next, all parties interested will attend with thier proof.
James Berry C & M July 20, 1849.

I have a Meigs Marriage record of Thomas ELIJAH Crossland to Mary Chauncy Casey, the daughter of Dempsey and Dicy Casey of McMinn, in 1846. Can anyone tell me about the connection of the above Johnson family to Malinda Crossland? Thinking she might be the da. of Elijah and that Thos. E. Crossland may be their son.
Trying to figure out why Mary Casey was married in Meigs and not in McMinn. Dempsey Casey, her father lost his lot and home in Athens in 1841 and looking to see if they moved to Meigs. Any connection or info on the above families might give me a bit more of the puzzle.
Thank you.
