Dear Iris,

Thank you for your magnanimous offer to do look ups!

My request has to do with late 1700 through mid 1800 for the name Klepper and/or Clepper. Any help at all that you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Fortunately, there were not many of them that I know about. They are my husband's forebears and he is 83 years old.

Also, can you tell me which is the proper term to use when referring to how the earliest of settlers claimed their land: were they considered "squatters" or by some other terminlogy?

Thank you kindly for any help! And, God Bless!

Jacqueline Drake Clepper
