Looking for any information on my great-grandfather born 16 Sept 1850 in Tennessee. I don't have any further information about him. According to him, his parents were killed in a northern raid and he and his sister, Lou, were hidden down by the river by a negro servant. When she observed the devastation, she took the children and raised them until they were old enough to be on their own. According to Pompey, his father was a surveyor and his relatives had been in the military.
