I intended to mention that it appears that the Henderson Co., TN MOODY's stem from a Robert MOODY (Moodie) and wife known only as "Nancy". This Robert was born around c1753 and perhaps in SC but I personally believe he is the son of a Thomas MOODIE and wife Jean McKENZIE who came to "the Carolina's" pre-Feb. 1772.
Thomas was a merchant and he had sons named Robert, James and John and daughters Ann, Helen (Eleanor/Ellen?) and Rachel and perhaps one more, I can't remember them all now.
All of the children were baptized in Nor. Berwick, East Lothian, Scotland.
Robert MOODIE (as his name was originally spelled in Scotland) was baptized in 1752 (per OPR records shown with sources cited among the IGI records on Family Search . org)

Either This Robert or the Robert MOODY, Sr. who married "Ester" of Marion Co., SC I believe are sons of this Thomas and Jean McKenzie MOODIE, its just hard to say which Robert was their son.
Robert MOODIE was named in an old SC Court record where his father Thomas and a Robert HOGG also a merchant from Nor. Berwick, Scotland had some sort of problem I am guessing. The Court record really didn't say what it was.
But this record named Thomas and wife Jean McKenzie MOODIE and all of their children living in "the Carolina's".

Some of these Moodie's then went to Savannah, GA but I believe Robert stayed in So. Carolina.
The Robert Moody/Moodie? who married "Ester" of Marion Co., SC I believe was born earlier than the Robert MOODIE (Moody) who married "Nancy" in SC whose descendants seem to have ended up in Henderson Co., TN, and therefore I believe it is THIS Robert who is/was the son of Thomas MOODIE and Jean McKENZIE.
However the earlier Robert MOODY b.c1740 I think, who married "Ester" named sons Thomas, James, Robert, Charles and John MOODY(you can find this info easily on Rootsweb).

So its hard to tell which one of these Robert's may be the son of Thomas MOODIE and Jean McKENZIE but I did notice in one of the oline genealogies at Rootsweb on the Henderson Co., TN MOODY's a son named "McKenzie MOODY".
This caught my attention.
I would also like to add that the McKENZIE name is found several times in the Marion Co., SC MOODY genealogies.

So far our small group of Genetic Ydna Moody cousins do Not match to any of the Moody's from England. They are now I believe the largest group of ydna tested Moody's and None of them match to us at all.
The only other place where the Moody (spelled Moodie/Mudie) name is found as commonly as in England is Scotland. Moody of any spelling is not native to Ireland.

We learned via Ydna testing that the earliest known Moody immigrant to America, John MOODY who came from England to MA and then removed to Hartford, CT, is Not related (as first thought) to the next earliest Moody immigrant William MOODY of Newbury, MA. They are both of different Haplogroups and do Not match nor share Ydna with each other. Several from each group have now been Ydna tested and none match to each other, so that ends the thought that they were cousins and again Ydna comes to prove that these ages old genealogies were wrong in assuming the relationship between the two.

That's all for now.
