RE: Alvin "Fate" Headrick of Blount Co. Tennessee
I'm his granddaughter, but all I can find out is his birth date (3 Apr 1917); death date (1 Aug 1969), social security # and year of marriage. Nobody knows his parents names, only that he had a brother Jimmy and sister Ann.
With only that info, how can I proceed with researching that branch of my family tree?
Maybe I'll have to send off to Vital Records trying to get a copy of his birth certificate. I've also written a Freedom of Information Act request to the Social Security Administration for his records. Time will tell if either of those methods yeild fruit.
Please help me if you can. If you haven't guessed, I'm new to genealogy.
