Hello all,
I'm posting this to see if anyone might be able to help me gather more information about some of my great-grand parents as well possibly get in contact with their other descendants.
I am trying to find more information about my great-grandmother Alice Young of Claiborne County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of James "Jim" Young, who was said to be Cherokee or part Cherokee, and Lucretia Upton. I have no info about Alice's parents other than their names. Alice's 1st marriage was to someone with the surname Nole. They had one child: William Evart Nole (b. Aug. 14, 1909, d. Aug. 13, 1993) who married Margaret Brooks (b. June 23, 1916, d. Feb. 26, 1993). Alice's 2nd marriage was William Marion Brooks (b. Aug. 13, 1891, probably in KY, d. March 23, 1951), one of my great-grandfathers. Alice died sometime between 1920 and 1922, when William Marion remarried to a Matilda Fultz on Oct. 28, 1922.
If there's a possibility that any descendants of the following people I list may read this, I'd like for them to contact me so I can further fill in gaps in my genealogy research:
Grace Lue Brooks (b. July 11, 1911, d. Dec. 7, 1990). My grandmother's sister. I remember my grandmother calling her "Gracie Lou" and remember going with her to visit Grace, and her husband, Dea Long (b. Dec. 12, 1909, d. Dec. 4, 1990, in Morristown, TN (I believe) as a kid. My information has that they had 7 children.
Silas, or "Silus", Brooks (b. May 26, 1914, d. Aug. 5, 1990) married Rozette B. Brooks (b. May 1, 1918, d. Feb. 24, 1990). My information has that they had 14 children.
My grandmother was Mary Nola Brooks (b. April 29, 1917, d. March 23, 2003). She married James Floyd Brooks (b. Sept. 26, 1898, d. Feb. 4, 1974). Together they had 12 children total.
