I am trying to find ___ Atwell b 1840-50 TN, he married Elizabeth Smith Bridges b. 1848 Ga or TN. Her parents are Robert G. b.1825 GA and Nancy Jane Norman Smith b. 1821 TN. Elizabeth married James Daniel Bridges b. abt 1843.
They had 3 children together and then James just up and disappears around 1879. Elizabeth is living with her parents in TN and during the 1880 census, she is listed as a widow. Later on, Elizabeth decides that she wants to marry again, only the fiance' doesn't want her 3 children, so, Elizabeth leaves them with her parents and marries this Atwell fellow, they have a son, Henry Atwell b. 1881, maybe Henry "Clay" Atwell or maybe the fathers name was Clay....This is a big missing piece of our puzzle.... Can anyone help?
OH, in the 1900 Limestone County, TX census, Henry Atwell 18, is living with Elizabeth's sister Mary Oliver and husband Richard Butler Oliver.
