from census, it appears that the best guess of parentage for your Filmore, which by the way could have been his middle name, would be Lorenzo Dow & Angeline Brown.
A Filmore appears with them that fits yours in the 1860 census, but is gone from that family from 1870 on. It could be their Filmore died, or was residing with another family (as wasn't unusual). Probably the best way to determine if yours was theirs would be to check for any estate proceedings on Lorenzo Dow, or any property transfers after his death. These kinds of transfers should include all heirs (whether individually or as groupings) and their spouses. Many times it will also mention deceased children in order to ascertain clear title transfer.
