Trying to help a friend of mine find her mothers' sister:
John Wesley Phillips born unknown married unknown. Had atleast 2 daughters.
Bertha does not remember her mothers name, the mother took off when the girls were very young leaving John to raise them.
Lola Phillips born around 1914
Bertha Marylou Phillips born 1921 Monterey TN.
It seems this John Phillips was a drifter and roamed around. He ended up here in Rabun County GA, where his daughter Bertha stayed and married a Ramey. The family says that Bertha was around 17 when she married the Ramey but that does not help.
Lola Phillips was last know to be married to Gordon Caudell and living near Nashville TN.
Bertha stayed here in Georgia but Lola returned to TN.
We have no idea what happened to John Wesley Phillips but need to find something on this family. Bertha can not get a delayed birth certificate because all school records and documents were destroyed by fire. I have checked census records and can not locate this family.
any leads at all would be appreciated.
