Can anyone confirm this. OR help me out?
Martin and Ester Smith (both abt 1799-1800) were the parents of Robert G. Smith abt 1825 GA or TN. Robert married abt 1848 to Nancy Jane Norman abt 1821 (TN).
They had Elizabeth abt 1849 (GA or TN), then Mary Ann abt 1851-1931 TN she married Richard Butler Oliver. Then Francis (Franny) abt 1856.
Elizabeth married James Daniel Bridges b abt 1843 (?)
they had Elbert b abt 1868-1951 TN (married twice, first wife unk, died and second wife Ella Walker Holton Bridges).
Then Ella Nora b abt 1875-1948 (TN), she married Thomas E. Byrd (unk) born abt 1876-1901/2, he died and Ella remarried to John Wiley.
George b abt 1877-1936 TN
I have some questions about Martin Smith, who was his father? Theres a post somewhere that indicates, someone called One eyed Jack or One hand Jack?....
Then theres James Daniel Bridges, when did he die? A distant cousin says that she found a legal paper of some sort on a trip to TN that shows Daniel (James) Bridges signing a paper for his mother Rachel Martin who was married to Samuel Bridges, this paper was signed in or abt 1890.
Also, there's no papers at all that show James and Elizabeth were ever married.... In the 1880 Franklin Co., TN census, Elizabeth is a widow with the three children living with parents Robert and Nancy.
Francis Smith, dau to Robert and Nancy Smith (listed above). I can't find anything on her, did she die? did she marry? (Robertson Co., TX - Robert, Nancy, Ella and husband Thomas with baby Fred, plus Ella's brothers, are living in the same house. Nancy is shown as having 5 children with only 2 living...) When did Elizabeth die? Who was her second husband, ______ Atwell? They had a son Henry Clay or Clay Henry Atwell b abt 1881-1882. In a census (TX I think) there's a Henry living with Mary and Richard Oliver listed as nephew 18 years old....
