Suggestion: take a close look at these Federal Censuses for BREWER in Tennessee, checking carefully for birth places, birth years, and occupations.

1870 Knox - Winfield S. and his father Andrew J.

1880 Sevier - Scott - I suspect that Winfield S. stood for Scott, as in General Winfield Scott.

1900 Sevier - Amos

1910 Knox - Amos

1920 Knox - Amos

Similarly, look at Amos's sons' World War I Draft Registration Cards.

Could Winfield Scott BREWER and Amos BREWER be the same person?

Since Amos died in 1920 or later, his death certificate should be readily available. Should list his birth date and place, and probably his parents' names and possibly their birth places.
