That helped.
I backtraced a little bit to try my best to be sure we tracked the right line. In doing so, from what I can find on census, it appears there she went by the name of Mary.
The info on the death information is what I went by looking for her on census prior to her marriage.

On the next 2 census items, only one Jason Odom that fit. Also, so did the names of some of his children that I show born above (give or take a year, which is not an unusual difference when it comes to census info)

For Nancy Shep*d, I get 4 results that could fit her on the 1870 census. Of these, only one fits via location, that being the closest to Carter County, TN. That would be Wilkes County, NC (Many times I do use maps on lookups)...
