to all who may have any knowledge of my grandmother please share your memories. here is one that was sent to me i love this story. Dear Christine, I am very sorry to hear of your grandmother's passing. I have been looking for her for about 20 years. I can't help you with the family tree book, but I do have a story for you: October 13, 1952 - Evelyn Basco's husband was in the Navy and stationed in California. However, Evelyn - who was VERY pregnant - was visiting some friends in Arkansas. When she unexpectedly went into labor, her friends took her to the nearest Navy Hospital which was in Millington, Tennessee. Evelyn's doctor was a young woman named LT Norrell. The doctor assured Evelyn everything would be all right and asked whether she wanted a boy or a girl. Evelyn replied, "I want a brown-eyed little girl with curly hair." LT Norrell laughed and said, "We'll see what we can do." At 3:25 pm that Monday, LT Norrell delivered Evelyn's healthy, brown-eyed, curly-haired little girl. I am that little girl. :-) Your grandmother brought me into this world! I had hoped to find "LT Norrell" and let her know that I, too, joined the Navy. I just retired in 2003 and my last duty station was Millington, Tennessee. I am in contact with many, many Navy women veterans and will pass the word to see if we can find anyone who knew or worked with your grandma. I hope you enjoy this memory. I am the historian for my family and will be glad to offer ideas for helping you locate more information on your grandma. Take care - Patty Parks Ooltewah, Tennessee Notify Administrator about this message?
