It depends on the Hale family you are researching.

My great grandfather was Lemuel Cecil Hale who married (first wife) Mary Emiline O'Connor. Lemuel Cecil Hale was a WW1 veteran. They lived in Dekalb/Cannon County.

Lemuel Cecil Hale also had a second wife and there is a whole different family line by the second marriage in Dekalb Co.

Some I know, some I don't know.

Very interesting family... :)
