Dear Iris, Thank you, thank you so very much for all the info on the family K/Clepper, and various spellings, Early Marriages in TN (upper east TN/Hawkins, Washington Co., etc.) and the Early Middle TN Marriages, as well.

In the latter group, my husband's Great Grandfather, James married to Polly Jones is listed. (FYI, James' name was Pleasant James,{son of Jacob, son of Phillip Augustus, son of Jacob, son of Johan Valenthin Klepper} and married (1) Christiana Collier with whom he had 13 children and (2) Mary "Poly" Jones with whom he had 8 more children. He sold his plantation in Marion County to Polly's uncle Patrick Jones (?) and moved westward, ending up in Hill County, TX where they are both buried. Both the Klepper and Clepper names have been carried on by the various families and have populated a number of states with a large group in Texas, including the Dallas, Plano area.

I have just very recently discovered that I have photos of all the grandparents back to P. James Klepper (and wife, Christiana and probably his mother, Temperance Gilliam Klepper who is buried in a large crypt in Marion County, TN.(My husband, Thomas Wesley Clepper, III, is 81 years old, born in 1927, his father (II) was born in 1877 and his grandfather, TWK,(I) was born 1833, P. James, b. 1793, Phillip Augustus, b. 1770, Jacob, Sr., b. 1741, Germany and Johan Valenthin, b. ?, Germany.

Our line of Thomas Wesley K/Clepper has been continued to IV and V and on to a little 6 year old boy mamed Chase THOMAS and his 2 year old brother, Ayden WESLEY. (So sorry the line was broken!)

I am so sorry that I had not written sooner but my computer has been down more than it has been running for months. It was quite by accident I found the message today. My husband, TWC, III, is an invalid and I am his caretaker.

Again, you are an angel for all the work you have done and I truly appreciate every word of your work!

Jacqueline Drake Clepper and Thomas Wesley Clepper, III
