SURNAMES associated with our MURRAY family in Monroe, and McMinn Co.'s TN are :
ELLIOTT, WHITE, LEEPER, LUTTRELL, SULLENS, DOUGLASS, RICHESIN, JULIAN, HENRY, PHOSTER, DAVIS, LYBARGER, SMALL, WEST, STONE, PATTON, and others. Some of these MURRAY and related families then moved from Monroe Co. TN area to Greene Co. MO and are found on many records there.
RENNE MURRAY and ANNA ELLIOTT are my GG Grandparents, and after Anna died about 1832-35 in Gibson Co. TN then Renne Murray married REBECCA LACY and she is daughter of WILLIAM LACY of Monroe Co. TN. We need to know if Rebecca's son named ISAAC MURRAY was born in Hickman Co. TN on June 01, 1842 and if so what were the MURRAYS doing in HICKMAN CO. TN then as they are on Monroe Co. TN Census's in 1840, 1850, 1860 and 1870. Were the MURRAYS of HICKMAN CO. TN related to our MURRAYS in Monroe Co. TN ?
RENNE MURRAY is son of ALEXANDER MURRAY ( MOWRY possible spelling too ) and wife BARBARA JULIAN. Both Renne Murray and his father ALEXANDER MURRAY ( MOWRY ) are found on earlier Monroe Co. TN Petitions as signers as well as on early Hiwassee land grants. Here are some records on this MURRAY family :

We see in the 1880 Monroe Co. TN census that Renne Murray's son named Alfred H. Murray ( mother was Renne's 1st wife, Anna Elliott ) is on the census there then, but we have no known record so far for his father RENNE MURRAY after his 2nd wife REBECCA LACY MURRAY had died until Renne Murray too died on Jan. 16, 1884 in Ash Grove, Greene Co. MO at home of his son A. H. Murray who had moved to Ash Grove sometime between this 1880 Monroe Co. TN census and the letter A. H. Murray wrote below telling of his fathers death to his sister MELINDA E. MURRAY RICHESIN who then resided in Boone Co. AR at Bellefonte. :

Possible data was in the letter also written by Jeff Murray on June 06, 1927 to Mrs. Renne Murray of Ash Grove, MO.
(Mrs. Renne Murray is probably a later generation and wife of a descendant of Renne Murray b. 1801 NC ).
" Renne Murray born 1801, May 25 -- Died Jan. 16, 1884 -- reared a family of 9 children. He and his first wife were married Aug. 6, 1822 ( KNOX CO. TN per marriage records there - Tina ) . He and his first wife ( ANNA ELLIOTT ) were married Aug. 6, 1822. Annie Elliott, the children :
