The A.B.Nelson you are curious about is the gggg-grandfather of my husband. I am happy to share what information I have found on him. In the 1870 census, Arthur Nelson is living in Franklin county, TN in the 15th CD. Age is 51, birthplace Georgia. His household consists of wife Mary, age 43, birthplace TN; Enock, age 1, TN; Samuel Hill, age 9, TN, Eliza A. Hill, age 8, TN; and George Carter, age 5, TN. Since the 1880 census has already been posted, I will only comment that it lists George Carter as a stepson--I'm not sure of the relationship of Samuel Hill and Eliza A. Hill at this time. In the Moore County Records, Will Book I found Arthur B. Nelson entry on June 22, 1892 which mentions heirs as wife Mary and son Enoch to receive the "10 acres of land known as Sarah Nelson tract which I obtained from her, my mother." Daughter Lucreca Hill to receive "land known as Mary Holder land." The will was probated on April 8, 1899. On the 1900 Moore county, TN census, son Enoch and his wife Lizzie are living in the household of his mother Mary along with their children Mary age 9, Allen age 6, Birdie, age 4, and Tommie age 2. By the 1910 census Mary Nelson widow age 84 is living alone--three households down from Enoch and Lizzie, whose household now consists of Oscar, age 14 (Oscar and Allen must be the same child), Birdie age 12, Tommie age 10, and Dove age 7. I have located the graves of Enoch and Lizzie Nelson in the Hurricane Cemetery in Moore county. Enoch's dates on the tombstone are b. 3/23/1869, d. 4/26/1939. Lizzie was b. 3/29/1869, no death date on the stone. Buried next to them is Oskar Nelson. From funeral home records, Enoch Nelson's parents were Arthur Nelson and Mary Hill. Daughter Lucretia Nelson married J.W. Hill on April 6, 1892. She married Robert E. Berryhill on October 29, 1896. They had two daughters--Myrtle Rebecca and Dolly. Dolly died as a child. Myrtle Rebecca was my husband's greatgrandmother. She married Murray "Dick" Nicholson. Please contact me directly and let me know how you connect to this family!
