Barbara, I am just beginning to work on a Martin Van Buren Riddle family of Franklin Co., Lincoln Co (Lynchburg area) and Moore Co. & then back to Lincoln Co.
They had a daughter in 1880 Moore Co., TN named Ann Elizabeth Riddle b. abt. 1861 in TN. I do not know what happened to her as yet.
I show MV Riddle & wife, Theresa C. (think Tucker) had children: (1900 Census, Lincoln Co. shows she had 12 children & 10 still living).

William B. Riddle b. 1860 TN
Ann Elizabeth Riddle b. 1861 TN
James Edmond Riddle b. 1863 TN
M. McDonald Riddle (male) b. 1865 TN
Ophelia Riddle b. 1866 TN

Harris Riddle, b. 1871 TN
Lula Riddle, b. 1872 TN
O. C. Riddle (female) b. Mar 1875 (not sure of year)
Barker (male) b. April 1878
Believe Martin Van Buren Riddle's father was Harmon Riddle of NC...no proof as yet.
