I don't have this book but I think it is in our Dallas library. I'll check next week while I am there. These are the notes I have on Green & Gilley:
Gabriel Roberts was bondsman on the marriage of Gilley Roberts to Green Scribner, Nov. 29, 1820 Wake co. NC, Jno. M Brasfield was witness. Marriage found in search of ancestry.com.
1830 census of Overton Co. TN has Green Scribner age 30 to 40 with two males under 5, two males 5 to 10 and one female 30 to 40. They are on the same page as Gabriel Roberts, Solomon Roberts, Balaam Marcum (Marcum Balem).
The 1840 Overton co. TN census page 47 has Green "Scrivner" with two males under 5, two males 5 to 10, two males 10 to 15, one male 15 to 20, one male 40 to 50, one female under 5 and one female 40 to 50. In the next dwelling is Solomon Marcum (son of Balaam).
I have not found them or other Scribners in the 1850 census.
Gilley evidently died before 1860 as Green Scribner is near my Dennis/Patterson/Mainord families in Overton co. during this census page 242. Green Scribner age 60 a farm laborer born in NC, Lisa age 20 born in VA, Margaret age 3 born in TN.
I believe Gilley is probably the daughter of Solomon Roberts and his wife Sarah and a sister to my Catherine Roberts who married Balaam Marcum.
