Sue, "The administrators of Joel Coffee, dec'd brought a law suit against him recorded in Overton Co. and John Walker Patrick is also named, but not on the side of the plantiffs, but as one of the defendants along with Hiram. So, there must be some sort of connection." Joel T. Coffee was Frances A. Coffee's father/John Walker Patrick's Father-in-law. I'm not aware of any other Patrick connection, but certainly anything is possible. A letter written by Frances's mother Juliet Walthall in Jan., 1845 states that Frances & Mr. Patrick were preparing to move to Arkansas, so I'm assuming they were still in Overton Co. at that time. It's possible he owed Coffee money too, who knows? J. W. Patrick's ancestry is a huge mystery to me. I've not found anything in KY but then I've not been trying very hard there either. I was led to think he was Irish, but Patrick is a Scottish name...so I can't swear to anything. My main focus for years has been trying to find out where Patrick's wife Frances died, and document her DOD...to solve a foolish family squabble that's older than me. Ozark Heritage Vol I says she's buried in Overton Co. but that's not enough proof. I'm emailing you a word document off-list Notify Administrator about this message?
