Lorraine,
The book I mentioned doesn't appear to give any more information on her husband than what you have now. It lists her as Kate G. Gotherd with all lines blank except for Morgantown (line 10) which is now a part of Dayton, TN.
Kate (Catharine) appears to fit in with the Emaline (Emiline, Emilin) Gothard family who is living in Rhea in 1860. Kate or Catherine is living in Hamilton County TN (adjoining county to Rhea) in 1870 with an infant daughter Adelia and in the 1880 Hamilton census she has 10 year old Adelia and three younger children. Kate is back in Rhea in
1900 Rhea census listed as widowed with 3 sons and apparently Adelia and another daughter, Mary have married.
This may or may not be the same Kate (Catharine) Gothard.
Good luck with your search.
