Lorraine, One more idea that you might try is to apply for Kate's Civil War Pension Records from the National Archives or some libraries in the larger cities. She might have just submitted papers in an attempt to get a pension and these records might provide a lot of information if they exist. I was able to obtain a wealth of information from a relative who tried desperately to get a pension after her husband died. He had not applied (he probably knew his 9 days in service did not qualify him), but she had a lawyer to file volumes of papers in an unsuccessful attempt. I did have the husband's name, but the National Archives may have something under her name. Good luck in your search. Rhea Notify Administrator about this message?
