My main direct interest is Ambrose McKee, born ca 1801, who married Martha (last name unknown) (place and date of marriage unknown). He and Martha and their children ended up in Hardeman Co TN in 1847.
He was the son of John McKee. He was the grandson of Ambrose McKee who died 1779 of Mecklenburg Co NC. This branch is my main interest.
At Rutherford Co TN in the 1800-1840ish era, there is Ambrose who was uncle of "my" Ambrose and there was Ambrose who was the son of Ambrose and first cousin to "my" Ambrose.
......Uncle Ambrose lived and died at Rutherford Co TN ca 1865.
......Cousin Ambrose moved to Missouri ca 1840.
......"My" Ambrose was on the 1830 RU Co TN census and then went to Franklin Co AL ca 1832-1833 where he is on the 1840 Franklin Co AL census living in Russellville.
It is difficult to know which Ambrose is which with the information that has been available. There is Ambrose McKee who died 1779 at Mecklenburg Co NC and at least two of his sons -John mentioned above and, his brother, Ambrose who went to the central Tennessee area that became Rutherford Co TN sometime around 1800. I am looking for information for where they were from the time their father, Ambrose, died 1779 and when they are later on the 1810 RU Co TN census.
I am looking for specific info about Ambrose born 1801 if any is available.
Thanks so much for your reply. It is hard to be precise when saying for what I am searching - these McKee are certainly all related and they were all real and different folks but proof is elusive.
