It seems that it is easy to overlook someone in the census records which is what I have done. I have found one James Rous
listed in the 1820 Rutherford County, TN census and he is listed as White. In the 1830 census one James Rouse is listed as a Free Person of Color living next door to a Sarah Rouse also listed as a Free Person of Color. With that said I now believe that these are 2 different James Rouse here which may be father and son. The younger of the 2 moved to Marion County, Illinois and is listed a White in the 1840 census. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Michael
