I have been looking for a long time for my great-grandfather, J. B. Carraway or John B. or John Bird (Byrd)Car(r)away. I believe he was born in TN around 1845. He married a widow, Annie Fox Sutherland, in Cooke Co., TX, in 1881 and he may also have been a widower. She had two sons and together they had two children: my grandfather, Samuel Leonard Caraway, born in Collin Co., TX, in 1887/80, and a daughter, Lora. J. B. was killed in a sawmill accident in the early 1890s, either in TX or OK. Annie married again in 1898 (Hacker) and again in 1903 (Miller), both times in OK. Their son, Samuel, lived in OK and married there in 1909. I have found J. B. Carraway, 10 years old, on the 1860 federal census in Rutherford Co, Dist. 1. Could this possibly be my great-grandfather? Any help would be very much appreciated.
