I am not really a Roberts researcher. The only thing I have is a lawsuit in Lee Co. VA ca 1842 where the heirs of Joseph Rogers are suing the heirs of William Roberts. All issue are supposed to be represented as far as I know.

There is a Thomas Roberts listed as a son of William Roberts, but that is not proof unless you have more documents to support this man as actually being a son of William. I don't have any supporting evidence myself. Sorry.
