Thank you so much for the prompt response. George Washington and Catherine Breeden are my husband's ggg-grandparents. He is descended from their son Asa L. Hurst and Margaret Kerby.Their son Walter Braton Hurst was his grandfather. It seems Walter left home at a young age, about 16 I think, and somehow landed in Texas. He married and raised a family there but would never discuss his family in Tennessee or allow anyone to ask about them. If you have any info on this branch of the tree I would very much appreciate it. I have quite a bit on the Hursts' and Breedens' in Sevier County but Asa and Walter are my brick walls. I am also researching Mary Breeden who was killed by White Caps in 1893. I am trying to determine if she is or is not related in any way to the Breedens in my line. I am willing to share any and all info that I have.
