I am trying to make a time line for the life of Osborne Ball. Here's what I have so far---can anyone out there help me fill in the blanks.
1779 April 14 Osborn was born in NC. This date is on his original homemade grave stone at the Old Osborne Ball Graveyard located at Ravens Branch, Cocke County, TN.
1803 September 26 married Patsey Thomason Grainger Co TN
1806 October 31 buys 50 acres from Thomas Harrison on Bee Branch, Old Buncombe Co NC
1810 Buncombe Co NC census 20100-40100
1814 February 26 sells 30 acres to Aaron Freeman on Bee Branch, Old Buncombe Co NC
1817 November 11 sells 190 acres on Bee Branch Old Buncombe Co to William Roberts NC the deed states "Osborn Ball a resident of Cocke County TN
1830 Cocke County TN census 21100001------23321001
1833 September 12 receives land grant number 29135 for 118 acres, Ravens Branch TN.
1838 July 2 receives land grant number 29136 for 1500 acres Ravens Branch TN
1840 Cocke County TN census 00201001------00010001
1850 Cocke County TN census age 71, wife Martha age 64
1859 March 25 gives deposition in disputed land law suit. He states has lived in the Ravens Branch area about 44 years. The document also mentions his 1500 acre land grant as it borders the disputed land.
1860 May 29 he dies. This date is on the tomb stone and is in line with the info on the 1850 Cocke County census, 1860 Cocke County Mortality census.
According to the census records, he had a lot of daughters--I only have info on 4 of them---Marainey Ball Black, Elmina Ball Stinnett, Meekie Ball Messer and Meda/Media Ball Stinnett.
