Well, you didn't get the misinformation from Joe Irwin -- he's innocent on this. He was the one who first confirmed for me that his grandfather was illegitimate and that he had always known that. I shared with him my Cunningham and Irwin and Rose research and sent him to Seven Islands to visit the grave of Robert M. Irwin's mom. She's buried in the extreme back right corner of the cemetery.
This sort of exemplifies the danger of passing on untested info without disclaimers. You end up with public postings that on the surface appear to have validity, but in fact are (mis)leading people off in the wrong direction.
