Hello,

I wonder if there is a connection to Elijah TONEY who went from Smith Co. TN to Jackson Co. AL. He was born in Virginia in 1786 (Buckingham County), the son of Alexander TONEY. When Elijah went to Alabama, he "ran off" with two "base women named HALL" according to court records. These were Jane and Sarah C. HALL whom I believe were sisters of my ancestors Claiborne HALL of Smith Co. TN. Elijah later loaned Claiborne money. I am trying to trace the HALL origins into Virginia and have wondered if there might be a HALL-TONEY connection in Virginia.

Glad to correspond with you. My e-mail is rickallen@direcway.com
