Would anyone on the list be researching or have knowledge about the following information on Samuel Hall and heirs from Smith Co., TN?
Deed Book M Page 166 24 Feb 1829 Smith Co., TN
The heirs of Samuel Hall, deceased versus the heirs of E. Hall being of lawful age, a tract of land that said Samuel Hall lived on containing 640 acres deed to Samuel Hall by William Goard granted to Abraham Rogers...beginning at the mouth of a branch called Jourdans Branch running southeast...line between William Goard, Charles Hall, Joseph Hall...north course then south to branch called Lesters Branch, to Charles Hall, Jane Hall, Griffin Warren, Elizabeth Warren, and Janey Hall.

Abner Keene, Susan Keene, Abigail Wilde, Jinney Hall, Jane Hall, Joseph Hall, Polly Goard, Epps Foster, Charles Hall, Griffin Ivans, Elizabeth _______, Gilbert A. Cottrell, Rody Cottrell, James Hall, William Goard, the heirs of Samuel Hall to Drury Taylor a tract of land (same as the one described above) on Caney Fork, west side...part of land deeded from William Goard to Samuel Hall.
Witnesses: Charles Hall, Gilbert A. Cottrell
The Gilbert A. Cottrell and Rody Cottrell mentioned in the above deeds had a son named John Hall Cottrell which could relate to the following information found in Albemarle Co., VA records:
Will of Richard Hall of St. Ann Parish Will Book 2 Page 73 Probate 8 May 1760 Albemarle Co., VA
Wife: Ann
Daughters: Elizabeth, Mary Trent wife of John, Ann Duncan wife of George, Jane Duncan wife of John
Sons: John, Richard
Grandson: John Hall Trent
Executor: wife Ann, daughter Elizabeth, Benjamin Tindall and Thomas Tindall
Bond: Henry Trent
The Elizabeth mentioned as the daughter in the will is also mentioned in Deed Book 4, pages 36, 14 Feb 1765, Albemarle Co., VA as being the wife of John Cotterel. The John Cotterel later in other records becomes John Cottrell.
So the Samuel Hall of Smith Co., TN could be related to the Richard Hall of Albemarle Co., VA.
I would like to correspond with anyone that might be researching the above Samuel Hall and families.
