John Jones and Elizabeth Ann Gibbs…

We are searching for information on John Jones born 1813 in North Carolina, which is all that we know of him, his parents, siblings, movement or ancestors.

John Jones married Elizabeth Ann Gibbs in Smith County Tennessee in 1835. John Jones was a farmer all of his life. We find him for the last time in the Smith County TN Federal Census Report. He was living in Carthage. In his household were his son James (“Jimmie”) and his daughter Amanda (“Mandy”) and her two children Mary and Minnie SIGLER.

Elizabeth Ann GIBBS was born in 1817 in Smith County TN to Archibald GIBBS and Margaret BOZE-GIBBS. She married John JONES in 1835 in Smith County TN. She died while in the home of their youngest son Elijah John JONES, who lived in Cooper Delta County, Texas. John and Ann Jones were the parents of Emily born 1837, Elizabeth born 1836, Henry Franklin born 1838, Nancy born 1842, Archibald born 1845, Martha born 1846, Melvina born 1855, Amanda born 1857, Victoria born 1858, James born 1863 and Elijah John born 1849.
