Scott - I am a Tobias in Dayton, OH. Most the Tobias ancestry came to Ohio between 1840 and 1870 from Berks County, PA. Your cousin Chris Bosela, daughter of David, had done some research about 15 years ago, she may still have some of the info. There is also a Tobias in Hawaii who formerly lived in Michigan that is on your direct line. My lineage is as follows:

Sally Jane Tobias, dau of Charles Wesley Tobias.
Charles dob was 8/29/20, dod was 9/3/93. His father was William Sheridan Tobias, dob 10/5/1885, dod 9/30/1954. He was descended from David E Tobias whose dob was 9/16/1861, dod 5/5/1952. All of these men were born in Montgomery County, OH. David's father was Charles Tobias whose dob was 11/15/1827 in PA, his dod was 12/14/1914 in Montgomery County, OH. Charles' father was Christian Tobias, born in 1797, died in Montgomery County, OH in 1869. I believe Christian is the common denominator for most, if not all, the Tobias families in the Dayton, OH area.

Feel free to contact me if you think I can be of any assistance. My direct email is sjjohn@woh.rr.com
