I am a direct descendent of Christian Tobias, born 1797 in Berks County, Bern Twp, PA. Family records show he married Sophia ? and moved to Montgomery County, OH after Sophia's death in the mid-1850s. Christian died in 1869 and is buried in Pyrmont Cemetery in Montgomery Co. One of Christian's sons was Charles Tobias, dob 11/15/1827 in Berns County, Bern Twp, PA. He married Elizabeth Painter on 10/11/1849 in PA and had the following children:
Emma Catherine - 7/15/1850, Dauphin Co, PA
Edwin - 4/17/1852, Dauphin Co, PA
Nimrod - 10/9/1853, Dauphin Co, PA (dod 10/28/1854 in Dauphin Co, PA
Ephraim - 9/30/1858, Montgomery Co, OH (dod 10/6/1858)
David E - 9/19/1861, Montgomery Co, OH
Lavina Jane - 5/30/1864, Montgomery Co, OH
Charles died 12/14/1914 in Montgomery County, OH.
My direct descendent is David E, married Effie Alice Valentine on 10/12/1882 in Montgomery Co, OH and had two children:
Gertrude Sylvania - 10/10/1883 Montgomery Co, OH
William Sheridan - 10/25/1885 Montgomery Co, OH
David died 5/5/1952 in Dayton, OH.
My grandfather William Sheridan Tobias married Bessie Estelle Sattler on 10/23/1912. They had one child, Charles Wesley Tobias. Williams died 9/30/1954 in Dayton, OH.
Charles, my father, was born 8/29/1920 had six children and died 9/5/1992. He married Mary Elizabeth Dorn on 4/9/1943. His children were all born in Dayton OH and are:
Mary Kay - 1/9/1944
Charles Wesley - born and died 10/7/1945
David William - 5/21/1948
Ninetta Lee - 6/15/1950
Carol Ann - 4/5/1953
Sally Jane - 10/7/1954.
